playing with restrictions

because of budget cuts, this year's exam catalogue could not be produced at a printing shop, and needed to be printed on the school's laser printers instead. so, i worked with the margins and restrictions that were set by the printers and created a playful design that feels native to the medium. i drew all the individual picture frames, shapes and headings by hand to add to the blend of digital and physical that i was workin in.
i also suggested that we use the school's riso printer to print the cover on some nicer paper, which was a very cost-effective way of heightening the catalogue's quality.
