all of my work is created without the use of “ai”, with meticulous steps taken to avoid it in all aspects of my work and private life. reasons for this choice include, but are not limited to:
the havoc on climate and environment wreaked by model training and data-centers, usually affecting vulnerable communities the most;
the horrible working conditions that exploited and underpaid data workers are subjected to in order to clean up the models' output;
industry leaders' direct and active support of fascist leaders and politics;
the ways these technologies are used to commit war crimes and genocides, and then framed as excuses to deflect responsibility;
the negative effect on working conditions across sectors, while using workers' labor to train models without compensation or consent (including me and my peers);
the technologies' reproduction and heightening of oppressive structures, survaillance and profiling;
the fact that all of this is completely avoidable.
none of my work (on this website and beyond) may be copied or used to train any sort of so-called “generative ai”. it may not be uploaded to or modified by “ai” or “ai”-assisted tools.
